Cute Cupcakes and Cookies Papercraft

One of my favorite things about Valentines' Day are the sweet treats!(okay, make that any holiday!) My indulgence now is usually a box of chocolates from my man, but children everywhere celebrate with heart-shaped cookies and pink-frosted cupcakes. Wouldn't it be cute to make some papercraft cookies and cupcakes to be used on Valentine cards, boxes, etc.?
These sweet treats have zero calories and are made simply from cut paper glued together.
Here are the patterns for the cupcakes and the cookies:
Assembling the cookies: Cut out "cookie A" from brown paper and "cookie B" from pink paper. Glue "cookie B" on top of "cookie A". Cut out lots of tiny "sprinkles" from various colored paper and glue on top of "cookie B". (I also used a heart punch for heart-shaped sprinkles.)
Assembling the cupcakes: Cut out "cupcake A" from white paper and "cupcake B" from either red or pink paper. Cut out 4 "cupcake C"s from the opposite paper of "cupcake B" (for example, use red on "cupcake B" and pink on "cupcake C", or vice versa.) Glue the 4 "cupcake C"s to "cupcake B", with triangles pointing downward. Glue "sprinkles" and hearts on "cupcake A". Glue "cupcake A" to the top of "cupcake B", overlapping it a little. Cut cherry out of red paper and glue to top of cupcake.

And here's how I used my cupcakes and cookies:
Here they are decorating a Valentine box for our church nursery workers. There are so many creative possibilities with this project! They can stand alone as adorable Valentine cards, be used on scrapbook pages, decorate boxes or bags, etc. You could even cut them out of felt and glue them to a barrette for a cute Valentines hairbow.

And now that you're craving some sweet treats, go make up a batch of Valentine spritz cookies! Use your favorite spritz cookie recipe (here's mine!), dye the dough pink, use the heart-shaped disk, and add some colorful sprinkles!
